I began working with young children and their families through volunteering in the Children’s Waiting Room at the San Joaquin County welfare department when I was 12 yrs old. I attended San Joaquin Delta community college and earned a B.A in Child Development from CSU, Sacramento and an M.S. in Child Development from U.C. Davis.
I have over 30 yrs. experience working with young children and their families in a variety of private, state and federally funded programs. At one time I also had a Family Child Care Home. I have worked with infants/toddlers, preschool and school-age children and have trained adults to work with children and families. I worked both at the CSUS Children’s Center and the lab school at U.C. Davis.
I am a certified trainer in the High Scope Curriculum and the Program for Infant/Toddler Caregivers. I am also a professional growth advisor for folks working on their permits. I have been teaching at MJC and SJ Delta college for the past 10 years and enjoy working with adult students. My husband Mike and I are the proud parents of two young adults and one noisy cat!
